clodhoppa - a version therapy
Three tracks from the Clodhoppa cupboard see the light of day. Versions of Future Loop Foundation, Jill Scott and bluegrass fella Chris Thomas King, they were only really created for the live show, but people seem to like them, so you can have them. As they're essentially cover versions we won't be taking any money off anyone, but we really suggest that you spend some dosh on the people we've covered/sampled/defiled... because they're ace.

Introducing the musical stylings of James Fox to mmii is this charming ep. We're proud to present five tracks of elegent, twisted, warm and tightly hewn electronica that travels from bass laden shuffles to deep, clicky house through clipped beats and breaks. There's real attention to detail in this release as James has crafted the tracks and marked them with his own individual style. Support from Laurent Garnier, Peter Kruder and Ripperton. Can't be bad.

Hopefully the first in a series, this is a collection of tracks from forthcoming midnightminustwo artists.

First up we have OG. With a bassline that wanders off with nothing but it's own interests at heart, but topped off with a range of samples, pads and beats that keep you nodding along, 'Bacon n Egg' is a more refined indication of the rudeness to come on his debut artist ep.

Then we have Clodhoppa's offering. 'Red Shoe Morning' is a jazzy drum n bass number, originally commissioned for a film that was never made.

Last but not least we have La La & The Boo Ya. 'Evidence' is a reaction to Section 76 of the Counter Terrorism Act, which prevents the taking snapshots of the Police (or any of Her Majesty's Services). Not so much an out and out rant against authority, this is an interesting and measured reaction to what they think is a pretty daft law. Oh, and it's got a wicked beat too!

We've unleashed the debut ep from Manchester's OG, a fresh new face with some filthy ideas. Owain produces music with a mixture of heavy, heavy bass teamed with an insistent step, hypnotic rhythms and a kind of dancehall reggae mentality. Blending breaks, dubstep, electronica and old school jungle vibes it's dense without being stupid.
